Welcome to the new STC website! Your hub for all things tech in SGF

Springfield Tech Council has officially launched its new website, sgftechcouncil.com, providing a centralized hub for all things tech in the region. As a founding board member and the website’s creator, I am excited to introduce you to the various features and offerings of our revamped online platform.

One of the standout features of the new website is the Tech Events Calendar, which aggregates events from almost every tech group in the area. This calendar serves as a one-stop destination offering a comprehensive overview of upcoming meetups, networking opportunities, conferences, and more. This should make staying informed about the latest tech events in the region easier than ever.

For our premier annual events, STC Squared and the Excellence in Technology Awards, we have dedicated pages that keep you informed of event dates, highlight photos from previous events, and provide information on sponsorship opportunities year-round. These pages will continue to evolve throughout the year as we make new announcements.

The new Membership page provides detailed information about the benefits and pricing for prospective individual, corporate, and community members. We are also excited to introduce a re-vamped tier specifically tailored for student members. Becoming a member of Springfield Tech Council offers invaluable networking and professional development opportunities within our growing technology ecosystem.

The Member Portal continues to be the place for managing your membership, customizing communication preferences, and accessing the full directory of companies and tech professionals who form the core of the STC community. This is a key area we’d like to improve in the future.

To better navigate and connect with the technology community in Springfield, we have created the Springfield Tech Community page. This page serves as a comprehensive directory of user groups, educational resources, non-profits, and organizations that work tirelessly to make Springfield better for all of us. Additionally, we host a monthly invitation-only Tech Leaders Lunch for organizers who dedicate their time and energy to giving back to our community. Now you can keep up to date with all of this from our website.

For students looking to pursue a career in technology, we have made it easy to access information and apply for the STC Scholarship Fund. Furthermore, we welcome individuals and companies interested in helping us expand this fund to reach out and contribute.

Our website now has up-to-date information on the Board Members currently serving and our volunteer Committees, where users can easily see who is involved and submit their interest in volunteering. We believe that community involvement is crucial to driving innovation and growth in Springfield's technology sector and would love for you to get involved.

We are also excited to announce the launch of our News section, which will feature articles, council news, community updates, event photos, and guest contributions from subject matter experts. Additionally, member companies will have the opportunity to submit news and showcase the amazing work being done right here in Springfield. We encourage you to submit your ideas for consideration.

The new Sponsor section of the website provides an avenue for companies to inquire about sponsorship opportunities throughout the year. By sponsoring Springfield Tech Council, your company can connect with new vendors, customers, and talent, while gaining exposure in Springfield's thriving technology sector. Most importantly, sponsors play an active role in supporting local technology's growth and progress.

While the Tech Jobs board is currently managed by Growthzone, we plan to enhance this platform in the future to provide our members with a more robust and customized experience. We understand the importance of connecting talent with opportunities and aim to continually improve this aspect of our website. Members can post openings at their companies or notify us and we’ll post it on your behalf.

In the coming months, I have planned a series of articles that delve into the surprising process and technologies used to design and develop this website. This includes how it was seamlessly integrated with other critical platforms used at STC, promising systems that didn’t make the cut, and the current state of AI in web design & content creation. Be sure to keep an eye out for these future postings. In the meantime, you can expect new additions and improvements to the site as we continue to test and introduce new features.

I want to emphasize that your feedback is invaluable to us. We are committed to serving the tech community in the best possible way, and your input helps us achieve that goal. Please feel free to explore the new Springfield Tech Council website and enjoy all the resources it has to offer.

Thank you for your continued support!
